Back in February, someone leaked some audio of an upset Christian Bale on the set of Terminator: Salvation.  In the clip, the actor goes off on a crew member, screaming at him for ruining a shot.  It seemed everyone had to have a listen to the tirade as the audio footage became one of the most talked about items in the news.  Plenty of remixes of the audio came out as well.

JILL AND KEVIN DANCE DOWN THE AISLE

Unknown soon-to-be-newlyweds Jill and Kevin decided to spice up their wedding by dancing down the aisle to the Chris Brown song “Forever.”  The choreographed ceremony was recorded and uploaded, much to the delight of millions of people, who tuned in to see it.  The footage became such a huge hit that in October, when “Jim” and “Pam” got married on The Office, they spoofed the clip, making the original video even more popular and spawning many other dances at weddings.

BEYONCE’S “SINGLE LADIES” SPOOFS

Beyonce’s tune “Single Ladies” wasn’t just a hit song this year, it made for many a hit video as well.  The official clip features the singer dancing in a black leotard and his led to many spoofs or take-offs.  A Barack Obama impersonator, overweight men and some guys from Saturday Night Live along with Justin Timberlake all did their own renditions of the clip.  There was even a cute vid of a baby dancing to the track as he watched Beyonce on TV.

DAVID AFTER DENTIST

Most folks have come home from a rough trip to the dentist a little out of it and kids are no different.  One father captured this on his camera phone earlier this year.  While returning from the dentist’s office where his son, David, was sedated to get his tooth pulled, much to the delight of Web surfers, the father recorded his loopy son, who was trying to understand why everything was so surreal.

THE MUPPETS DO “BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY”

PIANO STAIRS

How do you get more people to use the stairs?  How about by converting a staircase into a giant piano.  That’s what some folks in Sweden did and not only did it get 66 percent more people to use the stairs, it got millions of views from around the world too.

KITTY VIDEOS

Videos of kittens, also known as Kitteos, were hugely popular this year.  Clips about cats and kittens spread through inboxes like wildfire.  Among the clips is a cat that holds out its paws in surprise as well as the very popular keyboard cat, a feline playing the piano.  The latter was used to close many a video later on with the phrase “play them off keyboard cat.”

AUTO-TUNE THE NEWS

One of the biggest trends in music this year was the Auto-tune, a studio effect that synthesizes a human voice, and some creative types decided to apply the device to a video about current events.  Thus was born Auto-Tune the News, a series of Web videos that remixed news footage using Auto-Tune.
